Sue Michelson

In August 2019, Studio City-California-based photographer, Sue Michelson, launches her Soul Gallery web site and will make available never before seen black and white and color photographs culled from her career and personal archives for display and select purchase.

Initially, Sue Michelson will exhibit rare and never before seen black and white July 25, 1966 images of the Rolling Stones at their legendary Hollywood Bowl concert, along with select unseen black and white pictures of Buffalo Springfield and the Standells from the same venue.

Michelson also was the staff photographer for the nationally syndicated radio show “Rockline” and for the short-lived “Rock ‘n’ Roll Tonight” television series that was filmed at the Palace venue, now the home of the Avalon Club, while working for KLOS-FM.

“I chose the name Soul Gallery for my company
because all of these things are my soul on paper.”

Michelson’s work has been published in “Billboard” magazine, and “Radio & Records”, the KLOS-FM Concert Guide and other print outlets over the years.

“I chose the name Soul Gallery for my company because all of these things are my soul on paper,” she explains. “I’m putting my photos out into the universe,” Sue volunteers. “My collection is not really about live concert photos.”

In reviewing her photos for future website display, Michelson says that, “going through my archives is an opportunity for me to review the photos, and at times I feel like I’m still in my 20s. So if it can do that for me, it can do that for other people. I have pieces of history. It’s time to give them to the world to enjoy.”

In 2019, Michelson will be devoting even more time to the distribution and administration of her new Soul Gallery web site.

“The photos that I am presenting are images that have never been seen. Music and photography have always been my passion.”
